Working AND sleeping.

The day is 24 hours long. You realistically should get at least 6 hours of sleep, although some clever folks say you need more (I personally, somehow get by on 4-5 hours during the week, and catch up on weekends.)
Work for 8 hours, but with lunch and breaks it's actually almost 9 hours. (My 9-hr work day is 6am to 3:30pm).
Commute? An hour? (30m each way?)
Longer? 2 hours? 3 hours?

So take a 1-1.5 hr commute, add it to an 8.5 hr day, add in 6 hours of sleep. Plus you need to get ready for work in the morning, so, another hour?

That's maybe 17 hours of your day gone, leaving you just 7 more hours at home before you hit the sack, and damned if that's not about right for me. Get home around 5pm, in bed by midnight, sometimes watch TV until 1am. Get up at 5am and do it all again.

What happened to the Nanobot age when computers do everything, including heal us when we're sick and/or injured, and all we do is relax? I wanna be one of those tubs of lard on board EVE's starship (from WALL-E), just cruising through the galaxy, kicking back on my hover-lounge, grabbing a protein shake from the 'bot passing by while chatting to my neighbor via my always active HUD...even though he's in the hover lounge right next to me. Ahh, that would be the life.

I'd like days to be 48h long, while still needing 8 hours of sleep (I love to dream; I remember most of them, and they are wacky enough that I do not want to lose them) and working only 8 hours too...
Why must we spend so much time working?
I don't see the point...
