We’re one week in on the great Arthas Novel Giveaway contest, and there is one week left! Hundreds of article hits thanks to what I’ll call the Big Bear Bump* (many thanks, BBB!), and um… not as many entries. If you’re interested in getting your hands on a very lightly used (read once, Mint condition) Arthas: Rise of the Lich King hardbound novel, there’s still time.
Besides, who doesn’t like sounding off and offering an opinion of what someone else should do in World of Warcraft?
*Here it is, the Big Bear Bump (more traffic in a day than I usually see in a week… I’m glad that the word got out, and by all means, if anyone else knows of a good place where there might be interest in a free Arthas novel, link ‘em in; the more the merrier):
Oh, and no, that’s not a desperate plea for more attention for the blog on the whole, even though I could get snarky about the recent Tobold “commentgate” kerfluffle. Yes, I’d love to see more entries for the contest, but this blog is first and foremost just a bunch of tish tosh, and any reader beyond me is a bonus. I’m glad to get some great comments here and there, but this is far from a day job or popularity contest.

I read ya and love ya
I just don’t want the novel!
Heh, I’m sure that it’s past its “sell by” date, but I wanted to give people a shot at it.
Arthas is lonely, what with all the Cataclysm love, after all.
I enjoy reading you too! I can’t read novels though. Just never could! Thus I prefer your blog to said novel! Also, I am a fan of !
Ironic, considering that I have a tendency to write LONG posts.
Really and truly, I’m only angling for more entries for the contest. I do appreciate you all who do like to stop by and chip in on occasion, though. It’s nice to have intelligent conversations with an edge of silliness here and there. Much better than the comment section of a “big” blog or, heaven forbid, official forums. *shudder*
Perhaps it would help if I note that for all of the Big Bear Bump page hits, I only have TWO people that bothered to send entries to my noted email account with screenies, and only a dozen or so “reply” entries in the initial post. I don’t mind picking from those, in the end, but I want to give people a chance. I really should have done this sooner. *shrug*
It’s possibly too late all round — it’s all cataclysm this and disaster that. Arthas is SO 2006.
My WoW knowledge is out of date… I think you should play the class that most appeals to you.
Pete, I probably will, but for the sake of the contest and experimentation, I’m open to trying something else if I can be swayed… and that’s the whole point of the contest.
Once the Cataclysm hits, I’ll probably play as a handful of alts, trying desperately to get screenshots all over the place before my time runs out. Ah, but wait… since the Cataclysm hits *everything*, even trial accounts would see the changes, so I can do a trial later to catch all the early changes. Hrm…
Unless they kill trials in another misguided effort to combat gold selling. *shrug*
Hehe, I agree with Ysharros – I love your blog but I don’t want the book
To be honest, it would cost you more to post it to me then it be for me to just buy it! Maybe you could send me the cash instead?
How about ripping the pages out of the book and scanning one in every day and posting it on your blog for us to read?
Actually I would like to enter your competition just because I think it would be fun although I forgot to take a screenshot this weekend. I’ll try to do it this weekend! Maybe a late entry.
Heh, that’s a contingency in the original contest, too. If nobody wants the book, I’ll just compose a heartfelt letter to Arthas, carefully pointing out his utter irrelevance.
…is it bad that I think that might almost be *more* fun?
Oh, and a “read along with Tesh” might be a lot of fun… I just think the copyright monsters would steal my lunch money if I pulled that particular prank. If not for them, though…
I don’t think I would have any screenshots around from early 2006, which was the last time I played WoW. Any advice from that time might not be entirely relevant I suspect…
I can do a magic trick, a prediction with the book, but that would involve tearing a few pages from it. And without the facr-to-face part it somewhat loses the appeal – bad idea, move on, nothing to see here.
