Allods Online opened up the game to anyone with a free gPotato account until February 10th. They aren’t exactly calling it the Open Beta, and there’s no word as yet of a pending wipe, but hey, you don’t need a beta key any more, at least for a while.

So, I just read that the Russian version of this game charges RL money for the privilege to talk in zone chat. :/ Very good example of item shop game gone wrong.
Or a brilliant example of anti-chatspam?
It doesn’t bother me either way, since I don’t use Zone chat, but yes, that really is an odd choice.

I figured they would after the HUGE backlash they received. I thought the way you did though, Tesh, initially. What a great idea for spam control! But, having people pay extra to stop something you should be on top isn’t right.
