I’ve seen this pop up in a few places, and figured it might interest some of you.
If you’re a cold hearted capitalist, this is a fantastic deal to get some good source material for tabletop RPG play. Take advantage of the situation, you big meanie.
If you’re one of those soft-hearted bleeding heart carebear nice guys, the money they are taking in for this promotion goes to help people who need it. You selfless prig. (Oh, and they are donating to that unwashed bunch of hippes, the Doctors Without Borders. Internationalist dogooders.)
So, for $20 you can champion your cause, whether it’s selfish capitalization of tumultuous times, or trying to help people when all you have is a checkbook.
Who said gamers only want to kill things?
Looks like an excellent deal and a great way to raise money for Haiti. I’m not much into RL RPGs but I feel like I should help out the Haitians as it’s just bloody awful what happened there 😦 I can give the PDFs to my work colleague who does traditional roleplaying I suppose.
[…] Haiti, Get Games I saw this first from Raph, then Lum, and lastly Tesh, and I couldn’t ignore it anymore. A $20 donation through DriveThruRPG gets you $1,481.31 […]
Has anyone verified it’s legitimacy?
I ask because: I used to RPG many years ago. well over 5 years ago people started illegally bundling tons of books together into PDF torrent feeds.
Has anyone talking about this great deal, donated AND recieved the PDF and checked the PDF?
Guess it’s my suspicious side, but I’ve been a huge RPGer for years and I get around well on the internet, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen this site.
That’s a fair question. I’ve not dug into it much, but perhaps I’ll do that later today. Doctors Without Borders is legit, at least… so if the money winds up in their hands, that’s still a good thing.
Edit: Jeremy, Lum the Mad has some commenters over a this place vouching for the site. Brian “Psychochild” Green among them, and I’ve come to trust him:
