I’ve been remiss in my self-imposed promotional duties thanks to a self-imposed blog blackout for the holidays. As it happens, just a couple of days before Christmas, we released our latest XBox Live game, A World of Keflings.
The launch party poster (by our talented concept artist) and other promo art
The interviews with Doug (who is also on Facebook, if you like that sort of thing) and the Princess
The cross pollination with Raskulls and ilomilo
And best of all… musical cannons! Anyone who loved the music part of Mario Paint or its PC incarnation should have a blast with this fun little feature.
Oh, and as for what I did on this game, I built and textured a lot of the buildings, most of the terrain for the Forest kingdom and a smattering of other things like some of the resources, a couple of Keflings and Builders, and worked extensively on the intro cinematic. I spent a lot of time on a lot of different things in this game, and had a lot of fun with it. I even like playing it after sinking hours into making it, which tends to be a good sign. I also intend to write about the production a bit, but that’s one of those back burner things.
Oh, and welcome to 2011, all!
Congratulations! Feels good to have reached completion, doesn’t it?
Indeed it does. Especially when you’re pleased with the final product. 🙂
But… but it said there are no bears!
*chuckle*
It’s a bit of an obscure in-joke, actually. As it happens, well… there *are* four bears that can be combined all Voltron-like into a Super Bear. The good King there just doesn’t know about them because they are hidden…
😉
Congrats on a successful launch and completion of the project! I purchased it as soon as I got home from my trip after launch day. Haven’t had much off-time to play yet but I did get to the Forest World at least.
Just an FYI: at first I thought the game was spamming the Xbox Msg Center with those sharing collectibles because my Raptr kept popping up with a message “Collectibles” every few minutes from people on my friend list. Turns out it’s Raptr’s fault for not being able to recognize WoK’s custom message profile. I tweeted complaints but any chance your guys could maybe give the Raptr guys a hand with those? The spam is beyond annoying and I’ve had to block every friend who has the game just to stop it (mainly because I love having Raptr running, otherwise I’d just exit Raptr when I’m on the PC).
Dang! Congrats! 😀
Scott, thanks for the heads-up on that. I’ll ask about it tomorrow. Not sure how much we can do, but it’s worth asking.
Thanks, Ysh!
Wataminit, you are involved in the creation of the game? I feel tricked and betrayed! All this time I thought your positive words about it were merely a blogger talking about a fun game.
I’m joking of course. Well, mostly. I wasn’t aware you were part of the team in any way. I must have missed a post somewhere along the line.
The single-player was fun, but perhaps not the game for me.
I saw Kingdom for Keflings first and probably wouldn’t play it, but World of Keflings looks sooo much nicer! I love that you can use your avatar, they work very well in the Kefling world.
If I had an XBox, I’d put this on my want list to play with my son.
Tesh. you are so cool.
“Please…Please let us be your lackeys!!!”
lol
[…] the meantime, there’s also this little gem that I burned 12 hours on over the last few days. A World of Keflings, now in Sculpey! (Based on this promotional poster, direct from NinjaBee, my employers.) A World […]
