GoG.com announced that they have just gained access to EA’s back catalog. They now have this little gem:
Yes, yes, my day has been made. I’ve been waiting for that title since GoG got started. Between that and the X-Com collection I got from D2D last week, I’m neck-deep in retro gaming goodness.
Life is good.
…posting may be delayed…
…just sayin’…
Well hate to break it but quality privateer remake was available for a while:

Oh, I’ve been aware of the remakes for years. I tried to help with one of them, but never could get things working on my machine to help with the 3D sets. The games never did work all that well, either, and one of them flatly refused to compile. I’m very grateful for the teams that put together the remakes, though, just as I’m glad to see the game on GoG.com. It’s not so much that I’ll play it as much as I did originally, it’s that the game isn’t being lost to the unplayable history of computer progress.
Thanks for the reminder, though!
Oh man, I spent a LOT of time as a kid playing the Wing Commander series, Privateer was a favourite for sure. I miss space sim games, it seems these days we either get RTS, FPS or MMO.
Confound that website, it drives me to pull out my debit card…
Thank you for brightening my day, and ruining my budget.
Also Dungeon Keeper…OH DEAR LORD I LOVE THAT GAME!
One of my all time favorite games. I’ll have to see if it still holds up.
The deep PC universe games are rare these days with the advent of consoles. There was a special element to them. That era spawned some real gems.
It has been 13 years since the Wing Commander movie. Some like it and some don’t.
Here is our take with lots of pics and perhaps a little wit if you are interested:
