It’s been quiet around here lately. I’m still looking for work, and Unemployment is about exhausted. So, I still don’t have the luxury of spending much time here, and I’m… significantly stressed. Still, this is worth noting. The Gearpunk Dice that we’ve been waiting for since last year are finally here, so we’ll be shipping them out to everyone as soon as we can process them. Thank you for your interest and patience!
It’s worth noting that there are two photos of each single die. This is to show them in different lighting and against different surfaces, in this case, black leather and aged painted concrete.

WANT. where can i buy the dice? I ordered my coins already 😦
We’re going to have our hands full making sure we can get all the existing orders taken care of since the factory screwed up the numbers a bit. Once that’s done, I’ll make the remainders available at our SquareUp shop. 🙂
Received, thanks.
Mostly positive thoughts. They look cool and have hella heft. They seemed to come out better the fewer sides there were. The d20s (antique bronze) look a bit squished or blurred, not all the gears distinct. The zinc is just hard to read as the numbers get smaller, without an offsetting color. I’d say these are thoughts for if you do it again, but given the difficulties you’ve had over the past year, I’d understand if you never want to make fancy dice again.
The d6s came out really nice. Looking at the antiquated copper pictures, those are lovely.
Indeed, the smaller the detail, the less satisfactory the result.
And yes, the zinc dice are hard to read. I left them shiny because some people really like shiny, but for me, I’d prefer utility over shiny. As it happens, I think that was simmering in the subconscious of the campaign anyway, since the zinc was by far less popular than the other two. It was the third unlocked finish pick, so that probably mattered as well, but the antiqued designs just crushed the zinc in the final tallies.
I’m doing some experiments with ink on a spare D10 decader I have in zinc. If I can make it look good, I’ll share my findings. I’m using a nice super black india ink to see if I can make the contours and numbers pop.
I certainly have other dice ideas, but if I do them, they will be more like what Q Workshop offers, in that the designs are contained on the polygonal faces. No more sculpting around the edges for me. 3D printing may someday make them more feasible, but for now, with moulding tech, I think we’ve pushed as hard as we’re going to be able to.
…and I’m partial to copper . The brass/bronze is nice, but I like the deeper color of the copper. 🙂
