Apparently the spirit of unrest so prevalent in Egypt and other assorted countries is making the rounds. Here in the U.S., Wisconsin is stirring up old debates about the nature of a Federalist government. And as usual, it’s about the money in the end. Or freedom and agency… but it’s easier to argue about money.
Interesting times, these. I guess the Chinese still don’t like us dirty capitalists. (Or wait, who’s the bad guy this week?)
Time to go ignore the world and finish up Dragon Quest V or go grind for a bit in some random MMO. Reality bites sometimes. May as well do something with measurable success, hm?
Wisconsin frightens me. I can’t say I’m a big fan of public sector unions, but they’re pretty much the last of the unions. Now who stands up to the billionaires?
Someone should inform the Chinese that they’re more or less doing what the capitalists did back in the day: force workers into factories by one means or another, limit their rights, and have massive expansion of industrial power, along with the wealth of the super-rich, and do it all with a whole lot of government help. China really could use a proletariat revolution.

Alls fair in love and war
The problem is that the USA is broke. We can’t keep spending money we don’t have. This current generation has no right to saddle future generations with the debt incurred by their selfish actions.
I agree – escapism is a beautiful thing.
I would be disappointed if the apocalypse finally came, civilisation crumbled and we were forced to don leather armour and arm ourselves with bows and arrows – and there wasn’t a levelling up system.
I’m convinced I’d be able to survive in the wild if I wanted to, but if I’m not going to get any exp points – well, I don’t know if I’d have the motivation.
Exactly, Wolf. It seems to me that you’ll never get every political group to agree on how to spend money, but they all need to agree to stop spending so much. It’s a problem of math more than anything.
If one wants to wax political, though, there’s this lovely collection of food for thought:

…and I need to brush up on my leather armor crafting, so I’ll slip away again…
